What the Agent Gateway management dashboard shows, how to read its charts, and how to drill down from gateway-wide metrics to individual surfaces.

Production gateway deployments generate continuous traffic across multiple surfaces. Without a central view, identifying which surface produced an error spike or which agent identity is driving high latency requires querying logs directly. The dashboard provides a real-time, gateway-wide view of connections, latency, and agent identity activity across every surface, with controls to filter by time window and navigate directly to specific surfaces or identities.

What the dashboard shows

The dashboard loads automatically when you log in. It is organised into four areas.

Stat cards

Four cards across the top of the page summarise current gateway activity:

CardWhat it measures
Active ConnectionsRequests currently in flight.
Total ConnectionsAll requests processed in the currently selected time window.
Avg LatencyMean end-to-end response time across all active surfaces.
Error RatePercentage of requests that returned an error response.

The values update automatically according to the refresh interval configured in settings.

Connections over time

A line chart showing request volume over time, grouped into fixed-size buckets. Each bar or point on the chart represents requests processed during one bucket. Selecting a bucket in the chart filters the dashboard to that time window. The stat cards, the protocol chart, and the recent identities table all update to show only traffic from that bucket. Selecting the same bucket again clears the filter.

The bucket size is controlled by the Bucket selector above the chart. Available values range from seconds to minutes.

Protocol distribution

Use this chart to quickly see which protocols are carrying the most traffic, or to detect unexpected protocol usage.

Recent identities

A table of the most recently active agent DIDs across all surfaces. Each row shows:

  • The agent DID.
  • The surface the agent was last seen on.
  • When the agent was last active.

Select a DID to open the full identity record in the Identities view. Select a surface name to open that surface directly at the Monitoring tab.

Selecting a surface name from the recent identities table opens the surface editor at the Monitoring tab. The surface monitoring view shows the same connection and latency charts, scoped to that single surface. It also includes a live log stream for that surface.

The dashboard is a gateway-wide summary. For per-surface detail, use the surface Monitoring tab directly.

The Identities view, accessible from the sidebar, shows the complete list of all known agent DIDs across all surfaces, not just the most recent ones.

  • Surfaces: How surfaces define and manage agent interaction flows and generate the data the dashboard displays.
  • Agent identity and DIDs: How the gateway assigns a DID to each unique agent configuration.
  • Observability: How the gateway produces metrics and traces that feed the dashboard.
