Get early access to a product

Join an Early Access Programme in Affinidi Portal and activate it on a project to use products such as Verifiable Trust Agent, WebVH Hosting, or Affinidi Trust Registry.

Join an Early Access Programme and activate it on a project to start using a product that is in early access.

Some products in Affinidi Portal are available through an Early Access Programme before their general release.

You join a programme once, Affinidi approves your request, and you then activate the programme on the project where you want to use the product. The Beta access page in the sidebar shows every programme, your approval status, and the project each programme is activated on.

Until a programme is activated on your active project, the product’s page shows “You have not been approved for the beta programme yet.” or an Activate prompt.

Use this guide when:

  • A product page shows Join beta programme in place of its configurations.
  • You’ve been approved for a programme and want to use the product in a project.
  • You want to check which project a programme is activated on.

Each programme unlocks one or more products:

The Beta access page labels some of these programmes as “Beta Programme”. They are the same programmes. For example, the WebVH Hosting Early Access Programme appears as Web Verifiable History Beta Programme, with a Join Web Verifiable History link.

Prerequisites

  • An Affinidi Portal account. Use the same email address for the programme form as the one linked to your Affinidi Portal account, so Affinidi can match your approval to it.

Steps

Open the programme

Select Beta access in the sidebar. Each programme shows its Status: “Approved for beta” or “Not yet approved for beta”.

You can also start from the product’s page: select Join beta programme.

Request access

For a programme that is “Not yet approved for beta”, select the Join link next to its status, for example Join Verifiable Trust Agent. A dialog explains how to join. Select the beta form link, submit the form using the same email address as your Affinidi Portal account, then select Done.

Wait for approval

Affinidi sends you an approval email. Return to Affinidi Portal afterwards. The programme’s Status then shows “Approved for beta”.

Activate it on a project

On the Beta access page, under Activate for project, select the project in Choose a project, or select Create new project to make one. Select Activate.

Affinidi Portal confirms with a message that uses the programme’s short name, such as “Messaging access activated.” or “Web Verifiable History access activated.” The programme then shows the project under Activated project.

A programme is activated on one project. To use the product, switch to that project with the project switcher.

Test 1: the programme shows an activated project

Open Beta access. The programme shows Approved for beta and the project name under Activated project.

Test 2: the product page shows its configurations

Switch to the activated project and open the product in the sidebar. The page lists its configurations with a Create configuration button, in place of the join prompt.

Troubleshooting
